Aum is simply a three-letter mantra, which becomes "OM" when vocalized. When repeated, AUM provides a form of focused meditation. The mystical aim of any mantra is to utilize the power of sound vibrations to influence modalities of consciousness. Specifically, the mantra AUM is the audible representation of the universal creative force. This force is whomever you give thanks to.

Pranayama is made of two words: prana means "vital energy" - that which makes all life and all physical activity possible; and yama means "expansion". Pranayama is a method of breathing, through which life-supporting energy is expanded.Yoga (or union) is achieved by stopping thought waves in the mind.Mental activity is correlated to breath; the more breaths there are, the more thoughts rush throughout the mind. The practice of Pranayama can drastically reduce the number of breaths taken in a given period by calming the mind. It thus prepares one for concentration and meditation. It's like taking the mind on vacation without the credit cards, the spouse and children. It is your "time out" for yourself.

Asana is commonly translated as "posture," but the literal meaning is seat, referring particularly to meditation postures which promote concentration of the mind. Jabari Yoga is a moving meditation.

Heat is used some, but is not necessary. Since Jabari Yoga is a moving meditation, the body naturally builds up heat and starts to sweat during movement. Thus we may intentionally keeps the room warm in an effort to help the body work up a sweat. Sweat causes the body to detoxify. Heat makes muscles more elastic and less susceptible to injury.

Namaste is a traditional Indian greeting, which can be loosely translated as "I acknowledge and respect all that is good in you."
